Code of Conduct:

Canada Cup Gaming has a zero-tolerance policy toward discrimination, violence, threats, intimidation, inappropriate contact, and harassment (sexual or otherwise). Incidents of this nature will result in immediate disqualification from tournament events, forefeiture of all prize eligibility and a minimum 1-year to lifetime attendance ban.

We love lively audiences. Cheer for your favourite players, jeer their opponents (within reason). We also respect a healthly level of trash talk and banter. But, malicious, threatening, or discrimination will see you evicted from the venue. Be respectful to other players.

Canada Cup Gaming expects that all players will also abide by all provincial and federal laws while attending Canada Cup Gaming Events.

General Rules:

Unless otherwise noted, games will be played on default settings.
Tournament sets will be 2/3 unless otherwise stated. Winners, losers, and grand finals are 3/5.
Tournaments will be run in a double elimination format. Larger attendence may require that attendees be split into pools. In this instance the top 2 players of each pool will proceed into the next phase of the tournament.
In Game macros are permitted as part of your controller mapping (i.e.: PPP / KKK in Street Fighter V)
Accidentally pausing the game at any time during a match may force you to forfeit the round (Solely at judge’s discretion).
If you choose Random Select to pick a character and win the match, you must Random Select your character again
All console competitors are responsible for bringing their own controller. Canada Cup Gaming will not supply you with one. Cronus and Chronus Max Wireless converters are BANNED.
Brook Converters are legal and allowed.
PS4 Dualshock or wireless controllers of any kind must be desync’d and delete from the consoles BluTooth settings at the conclusion of your match. Failure to do so will result in the player being disqualified if another match is interrupted.
It is the player’s responsibility to notify their judge if they are entered into multiple tournaments and there is a schedule conflift.
If you have any issues with the tournament itself or tournament play please find a Canada Cup Gaming tournament director.
Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

Registration Policies:

By registering for Canada Cup Gaming 2019, you agree to accept that tournament scheduling may require you to be present Friday, Nov. 1 for matches. It is the player’s responsibility to make sure they are aware of their posted pool times and pool location. Judges will begin calling pools 15 minutes prior to their start time. If you are not present for your check in time, and your match is called players will be sent to the losers bracket of their pool. If you are called a second time and are still absent, you will be eliminated.

Refund Policy:

Canada Cup Gaming does not issue refunds. Players are allowed to transfer their registration to another party prior to registration cut off.

Idemnification:

By entering the event premises, you agree to assume liability and responsibility for any and all injury and damage incurred or caused by you at this event, including but not limited to any injuries that may result from any arcade machine or video game console, monitor, joystick, or any other object, as well as crowding, excitement, or the actions of other individuals.
All tournament participants shall protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Canada Cup Gaming, its affiliated corporations, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives and employees from and against any and all costs and expenses, damages, claims, suits, actions, liabilities, losses and judgments including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and legal expenses, based on, arising out of or in any way related or connected with the Event or any other matter or activity directly or indirectly related to the Event, including but not limited to libel, slander, disparagement, defamation, copyright infringement, invasion of privacy, piracy, plagiarism, or infringement of any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right of any third party. This obligation shall continue beyond the term of the Event.

Photography & Videography Release:
Registering for, participating in, or attending Canada Cup Gaming events constitutes the voluntary consent of the participant or attendee to: (a) be photographed, filmed or videotaped by CEO Gaming Inc representatives and (b) the reproduction and use of all such photographs, digital images, films, and likenesses for publicity purposes in publications, advertisements, promotional and marketing materials, and all other media including the World Wide Web, without further notice or compensation to registrant, participant, or attendee. All proprietary rights and copyrights in all such photographs, digital images, films and likenesses (including negatives, positives, and prints) shall be and remain the property of CEO Gaming Inc.
You agree that you have knowledge of and consent to being photographed, filmed, and otherwise recorded. This recording may occur with or without your direct and simultaneous awareness.
You irrevocably and wholly grant to Canada Cup Gaming the exclusive use of your name, voice, picture, and likeness as recorded on these premises in conjunction with this event. You also irrevocably and wholly grant to CEO Gaming Inc. the exclusive use of any statements and actions made by you as recorded on these premises in conjunction with this event. This grant of rights shall be effective throughout the world and in perpetuity.
Canada Cup Gaming may use any footage it obtains at this event for any purpose, including but not limited to live and recorded transmission, advertising, promotion, sale, and transfer, in all media now known or hereafter devised throughout the universe and in perpetuity.

Please see below for all game specific rules as they pertain to Canada Cup Gaming 2019. We realize that newer titles may have ruleset changes as bugs and exploits are discovered by the community. As such, we will update our rulesets accordingly if this is the case. 

STREET FIGHTER V: ARCADE EDITION

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, No Handicap
  • The top 8 competitors will play 3/5 Matches.
  • Legacy Controller Mode is banned.
  • Training Stage, Skies of Honor, Flamenco Tavern, and Kanzuki Beach stage are not tournament legal.

ULTRA STREET FIGHTER IV

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, No Handicap
  • The winner can change ultras if the losing player changes their character, but must pick their ultra first after the loser picks their character.  
  • The top 8 competitors will play 3/5 Matches.
  • Legacy Controller Mode is banned.
  • Training Stage is not tournament legal.

DRAGONBALL FIGHTERZ

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: 300 Seconds, 2/3 Games, Default Handicap, Default Damage

BLAZBLUE: CROSS TAG BATTLE

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: 3/5 Games, 180 seconds
  • If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.

MORTAL KOMBAT 11

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4, Non Hotfixed Version (Only latest hard patch)
  • Game Settings: 2/3 games, Top 8 will play 3/5 games.
  • Winner must keep same character.
  • Stage Select: Random

UNDER NIGHT IN BIRTH: EXE LATEST

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: 2/3 games
  • If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.

TEKKEN 7

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: 2/3 Games, 60 Seconds
  • If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.
  • There will be no customizing colors, names or items at any time before or during a tournament match. Any player that does so will be given a loss.

  • Game Settings: 2/3 Games, 60 Seconds
  • If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.
  • There will be no customizing colors, names or items at any time before or during a tournament match. Any player that does so will be given a loss.
